Tras el final de la guerra de Troya, Ulises decide volver a su casa en Ítaca, pero el regreso es largo y difícil. Víctima de la cólera de los dioses del Olimpo, deberá afrontar numerosos peligros: la ninfa Calipso, la princesa Nausícaa, los cíclopes, la hechicera Circe y las sirenas. Cuando por fin llega a Ítaca, se reencuentra con su hijo Telémaco, pero aun debe luchar para liberar a su reino de los malévolos pretendientes de su amada Penélope y reencontrarse con ella.
